This Dad Beat Sharp Shoulder Pain and Got Back to Shooting His Bow Pain-Free
For this hardworking dad, the hardest part of his shoulder pain wasn’t the ache itself. It was everything it quietly took from him. He couldn’t play catch with his kids without wincing. If they grabbed him the wrong way while wrestling around, his shoulder let him know. His workouts had come to a screeching halt, and the pain was starting to creep into his job and how he got things done at work.
It started as a nagging pain at the front of his shoulder. Then any movement that took his arm up over his head brought on a sharp pain in his shoulder that made it hard to move at all. Lifting weight became a struggle. And as he put it, once you stop moving around, everything goes downhill from there.
What He Did
He tried everything he could think of. He went to a chiropractor for shoulder pain, tried red light therapy, got massages, and more. Months went by, and nothing really helped.
Then an Instagram ad caught his eye. It was completely focused on shoulders, and it seemed to speak directly to what he was going through. He said he hadn’t seen anything that targeted shoulders anywhere else. By then, he was ready to try anything, so he came in with an open mind.
The Turning Point
The early stretches felt good right away. He noticed he was getting a bit more range of motion without as much pain, and that gave him the push to keep going.
The program also fit into his life. He often did his sessions at 11 at night before bed, or whenever he had free time at work. Filming himself and setting up a Zoom call were new to him, so he got a little tripod and figured it out. After a couple of small fumbles, the app was easy to use, and the demonstration videos were straightforward.
What stood out most was how specific everything was. There were no extra workouts that had nothing to do with his problem. Nobody told him to take supplements or stand in the sun for 10 minutes a day. It was just movement.
That made sense to him. Back when he did arm wrestling, he hurt his elbow and tried resting it. It never got better. Once he started using bands, it was fine in about a month. That’s when he learned you can’t let your joints just sit.
Results
- Pain is way down.
- Range of motion is “10 times better” than before.
- Strength is back up.
- Shooting his bow is now pain-free.
- Lifting overhead, grabbing things, and pulling things across his body no longer hurts.
- Tossing something in the trash doesn’t make him cringe anymore.
What Changed And Why It Worked?
His problem was a little unusual. Most movements felt fine, but one particular motion triggered the pain every time. That’s the kind of shoulder pain when lifting an arm overhead that general treatments kept missing, and a targeted plan was what finally reached it.
Progress came gradually. First, the stretching started to feel good. Then his range of motion came back. As things moved along, his shoulder got stronger with less pain. He still can’t wind up and really let something rip, but doing that motion without pain is huge for him.
Now he’s ready to start feeling like his old self again and get strong.
What He’d Tell Someone With the Same Shoulder Issues
“If you can do it, do it.” He believes it will help, and it will get you motivated to fix yourself and get back to the life you lived before your injury.
